![]() >CRT filters are shit I only use CRT filtersĬlose. It's not as perfect as a real CRT but it's better than the eye-strain inducing garbage of "CRT filters". When I play from sofa distance I can't see the lines, it just looks like a smooth image instead. Personally I just use a 50% opaque scanline filter, and increase brightness to compensate, making sure the line integer matches the internal rendering resolution. If people were making filters that did this without trying to replicate a CRT we would probably have vastly superior filters. It's a form of natural anti-aliasing, it's an optical illusion that tricks your eye into thinking the pixels blend together. The annoying thing is, filters are not a meme but the real function is to simply break the image up. Let alone on the garbage 10 year old 1080P panel they probably use them on. They think they are "recreating" the "effect" of a CRT screen, but that's not what they are doing, and unless they have a HDR 8K monitor that's barely even possible. ![]() They're zoomer retards, it's that simple, don't try to reason with them. It bleeds really good on white but something like a light blue sky ends up with a really distinct contrasting grid and then there's black shadows like Crash's armpit that end up with that dot printer effect. which is presently a limitation I just have to put up with for CRT like strobing. I'm still messing around with the balance of the mask grid lines but there's a limit to how much I can do on a 1080p screen.
